dogs reduce stress

Should I get a dish platform for my cats food & water dishes?
I have noticed that he squats down when he eats and drinks his water. After drinking his water, he starts a funny coughing at times. He eats his food fast too. There is no other animals here and just me as a human. I do not bother him when he eats, I leave him alone and treat him well. He is approx. a year and a half old and approx. 12 # nutered male. He came from a feral group and I bottle fed him from the beginning until he was old enough to take over. Very loving towards me, but he does get agressive with most all visitors, even though they are just being friendly, not forcing themselves onto him. Prehaps I have a IED with four legs and a tail, for a vet told me when he was small he would guard my house well…. SO, back to the dish platform, does anyone think that minght reduce stress in Ezals eating time? I know bigger breed dogs have raized up dishes for their eating enjoyment.
Yes, it will make eating easier for him and place less (physical) stress on kitty’s neck. It may also help with digestion.
