are dogs lactose intolerant

can dogs drink milk?
i was wondering if dogs can drink normal cows milk but i do think dogs are intolerant of lactose.
would soy milk be ok for them?
they all are sneezing so the vet recommended some honey first before putting them on antibiotics.
but they don’t seem to like lciking the honey. i am not sure why but they just don’t seem to like it.
i was thinking about mixing it into milk but i wasn’t sure if that’s a good idea.
or would puppy milk that you can get in a pet shop be ok? thanks
Milk is fine. Most dogs can tolerate it… if they can’t, they’ll get an upset stomach, and don’t give it to them again. I’ve heard that dogs are lactose intolerant float around a bit, but I’ve never seen an actual study, nor have I ever known a dog who was lactose intolerant (so the “exception” seems to be the rule).
It’s not good to give too often, but occasionally… yeah, it’s perfectly fine. Hell, cottage cheese is recommended for bland diets when dogs have upset stomachs, so…
Soy milk… no. Quite a few dogs are allergic to soy, and those who aren’t don’t digest it very well at all.
Goat’s milk is ideal… dogs love it (for some strange reason), and it’s good for them.
All milk has some lactose in it… cow’s milk, goat’s milk, dog’s milk… If puppies can drink their mothers’ milk, then they’re not lactose intolerant.
EDIT: All mammals gradually become more and more lactose intolerant as they age… it’s just a matter of how much. But I’ve never seen anything suggesting that happens to dogs more than to humans, etc…
