calming dogs during fireworks

calming dogs during fireworks
I was just curious! Has anyone ever used Pet Calm, to calm their dogs down during Thunderstorms or Fireworks?

Is it a safe product to use and does it work? If you don’t use it, how do you calm your pets down during these events or don’t these events affect your pets?
Just to make things clearer, I am not asking this question so I can use this on my pets, I’ve seen this question posted on another q@a site from people asking if the should used Pet Calm on their pets and was just wondering if anyone here has used it and what their opinion were of it. My dogs are used to Thundestorms where I live, and Fireworks don’t seem to bother them. I would never use a product on my pets, without asking my vet first.

My poor little maltese gets terribly upset during thunderstorms. If he can’t curl up in my lap he will hide in the closet or behind the couch and he shakes like crazy. I’ve never used anything like that before and wouldn’t feel very comfortable with the idea of “drugging” my pooch but would consider it if the situation called for it. If he was being doggie-sat (which stresses him out in the first place) and I knew there were going to be a lot of thunderstorms then I would consider it. I’d rather drug him than have him terrified. He’s one of those dogs who only likes me and if wasn’t there to comfort him he would lose it. I would definitely not use it all the time but I want him to be comfortable so I might try it in a situation like that. I would make sure to ask his regular vet if it was alright since she knows Spinner’s history and could accurately tell me whether it’s safe for him to use, if she says it’s okay then I don’t see how it could hurt. Good luck!
