chocolate poisoning in dogs, how long does it last?
My dog ate a couple small pieces of dark chocolate yesterday, and he’s been ill since. He was sick and had diarrhea yesterday, then seemed very lethargic and sleepy, but by this morning he seemed to be getting better. Now though he’s sleeping a lot, and he’s limping, too? Does this have anything to do with it? He has trouble standing and isn’t very responsive. I’ve heard this can last three days. I can’t take him to a vet until tomorrow morning, and im worried he’s going to start having fits or something.
He’s about the size of a Scottie dog.
has anyone else’s dog gotten through this?
We didn’t know he had eaten it till after he was sick, then we realized something was wrong. By then it was too late for a vet and it’s too late now.
He’s not been sick for way over 24 hours, and hes been eating tonight, and drinking a little.
Bro, everyone may say wait till the morning but dont, this happend to one of my dogs, and i waited a day to long, he had a severe seizure. And the symptoms where EXACTLY as you describe that night, like he had a dezed look in his eyes, and starred off alot. ER dude
EDIT: errr, well i dk i dont f^^k around with stuff like that, the minuete i notice anythign in my dogs like non responsive or no balance i go to the ER..im not taking chances, but if hes eating and drinking on his own, you may be able to push it, but make sure FIRST THING in the morning. Good Luck…do you know what to do if he does has a seizure? cause you have to keep an eye out
