How do I keep my dog from attacking my Christmas presents?
I have a beagle puppy that is now 4 months old. The problem is that he loves to tear things up, any and everything. He’s taken a great liking to chewing up some of the ornaments on the Christmas tree. The thing is I am afraid he’s going to do the same thing to the presents once they are under there. I’ve looked at some gates to put up around the tree, but they are running around $100. Does anyone know of any places to get a cheaper gate or have any creative ideas on how to keep my puppy from causing more destruction?
Last year I wrapped a sheet around the tree, from top to bottom so she couldn’t see the tree at all.when we weren’t around to watch her. Unattractive, I know, but my dog didn’t touch the ornaments after that. As soon as I came home I would take the sheet off.
This year she knows better. The presents on the other hand, as beautiful as the tree looks loaded with gifts under it, they stay in the storage room until Christmas Eve. Otherwise everything we bought for everyone would get destroyed.
