dogs eyes dilated

dogs eyes dilated
my dog’s eyes dont respond to light! help!?

my dg came in tonite, out of the rain. and when he entered the house i notice something waz off, so i also noticed that he seemed slow to respond and that his pupils were just all black, (not dilated) . so i thought that an animals eyes only need to do that when there is less light around, but it waz as bright as day. and yet hius pupils were still huge. i hoped i waznt overreacting but when i took him into the darkness and put a huge bright light in his eye, his pupils remained the same ,

is this a problem, he seems scared, wat could cauze this , and i have no doubt its something medical rather than just an experience he had, any real vets out there, could help please? i didnt notice anyother symptoms though! i could mention if i do notice any later on tonite . please help.

i heard people saying a stroke to a similar case , i think my dogz max possible age is 6 , so des that apply to him?

please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Pupils can be dilated due to fear, disease, or from eating something toxic. A vet visit would be a good idea as this is NOT normal. Is he acting blind like he can’t see?
