dogs feeding habits
my dogs have bad eating habits?

ok i have bishons. our dogs are very picky with there dog food. we have changed there foods a lot . and at first the boy seems to like it but then they dont. the boy ( skippy) goes all day with out eating unless we give him human food. until night time he’ll eat his bowl. the girl ( darling) is very rare she’ll eat out of her bowl at all. all she wants is humman food,. im getting a lil worried because there losing weight. not drasticly or nothing major either but im afraid there not getting the vitamins or enough of there food and thats why darling most of the time she just sleeps. i dont know what other way to try to feed them there food. like i said we’ve changed the food on them before. and no luck..\
at night when skippy eats he eats all the bowl cuz hes hungry but not the girl. weve even mixed a lil of human food into there bowl mixed with there food and they just eat the human food….l

First, the breed is Bichon.

It’s doubtful that they have bad eating habits, it’s more likely that you guys have bad feeding habits.

Immediately, Darling needs to see a vet to rule out a medical problem. Refusal to eat is one of the first signs of illness in animals. If she checks out, then you need to stop allowing her to beg for scraps.

Both dogs get a HIGH QUALITY food in the AM. Something like Natural Balance. Add some warm water to it. Leave it down for 15-20 minutes. If she won’t eat, pick it up and try again with fresh food that night.

Between feedings, NO PEOPLE FOOD. Be sure that everyone in the house is aware of this rule. NO CHEATING. GL!
