dogs health information

importing pet dogs into Jakarta?
Does anyone know if it is possible to import from non-rabies free countries to Jakarta Indonesia, if you have health certificates and full history of vaccinations.
I have read that the Ministry Of Agriculture does not provide and Import permit for those animals coming from India.
I need real answers here, as I have been unable to find up to date information.
Both of my dogs are also Microchipped and fully up to date with anti rabies shots.
I read also that pets can be distroyed at the Jarkarta airport

There are two possibilities to relocate/transport pets from the E/E’s origin country to Indonesia, i.e. a) pets are brought to Indonesia as excess baggage, and b) by cargo using an agent at both origin and destination. It is recommended to use an agent (Moving or Relocation company or certified customs broker) when importing pets to Indonesia.
Pets must have a rabies vaccination at least 30 days before arrival in Indonesia, but must have been administered within the previous 12 months. Pets are subject to the payment of import duty. An import license is required for all animals; normally it takes 3-4 working days. Copy of owner passport, copy of health certificate and copy of vaccination record will be required to apply for an import license. The application is then submitted to Animal Health Division, Directorate General of Livestock Services, Jl. Salemba Raya No. 16, 3/F, PO Box 402, Jakarta. It is advisable that the client contacts Santa Fe before shipment of pets, for the arrangement of an import license.
The import of animals (birds, cats, dogs and monkeys) is prohibited in certain areas of Indonesia: e.g. Palembang, Bali, Surabaya, West Kalimantan and Irian Jaya.
Inspection of the E/E’s pet will be carried out at the port of entry and sufficient notice must be given to permit a vet to be present. If there is any doubt about the animal’s health, it will be held in quarantine for a minimum of four months at the owner’s expense.
Full details of current regulations are available from Indonesian embassies/consulates. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO CONTACT SANTA FE PRIOR TO SHIPPING A PET TO INDONESIA.
