My Ball Python Looks like he ate chewing tobacco ?
My local vet doesn’t know what it is. He says he only deals with cats and dogs. I have an appointment with a vet 2 1/2 hrs away but the oppointment isn’t until next friday. I’m kind of freaked out and very upset. I have had snakes for the past 6 years and never seen anything like this. he can’t close his mouth. I couldn’t find any pics of this on the net. from what the dog vet said rot mouth looks like cottage cheese, ANYONE HELP! Is there anything I could do for him in the mean time. I’m fearing the worst. Is there any meds that I could give him my self. Getting bit is the least of my worries although he is almost 6ft long. there is no shortage of people drs around here.
He has a bad case of mouth rot.get him to an experienced reptile keeper or a vet ASAP. You do not sound like you have enough experience to deal with this on your own. By the time mouth rot looks like cottage cheese it is really advanced.
