“Groomathon” at the Gables, Abington, a success.
Really big check presented to MSPCA Metro South.
Participants of the “Groomathon” at the Gables, Abington, came together for
the really big check presentation.
Participants included Jenna Loomis of Zoomin Groomin, the mobile pet spa
which donated its services for the day; Kris Kodzis of the Gables, a pet
friendly condominium community located in Abington, Mass. that hosted the
event; Kim Heise, manager of the MSPCA Metro South Animal Care and Adoption
Center; Donna Sheehy, founder of Zoomin Groomin and director of national
franchise sales; Jen Alvarez, also of the MSPCA and Pumba (a cute mixed
breed dog), who is available for adoption.
A tidy $800 was raised for the MSPCA.
The event was held on Sunday, September 28, at The Gables clubhouse on 200
Hampton Way in Abington, MA. All proceeds were donated directly to the
MSPCA. Additionally, management of The Gables matched all consumer
donations.
Zoomin Groomin groomers and mobile pet spas were onsite to assist with the
grooming of residents’ dogs and cats. Zoomin Groomin donated their time and
all voluntary contributions. Suggested donations for the grooming of each
pet was $50 or $100.
“The Groom-a-thon event was a great success. It raised money for a great
cause and gave our pets to be a bit of pampered,” commented Bisher Hashem,
president of the Gables Development Corp. “We are delighted to help out.”
Jeff Loomis, the participating independent franchisee for Zoomin Groomin,
added, “The MSPCA’s animal protection and veterinary medicine mission is
worthy of everyone’s time, effort and attention.”
