dogs with hair loss
how come shar pei’s smell strong and often time have hair loss?
i have seen show dogs with hair loss is this an accepted shar pei condition, I noticed alot of them are born with entropia-or how ever it is spelled, that is when the eyelashes rub against the eye from excess skin, but even more have an oily skin and they smell bad. I have seen alot on breeder pages and show results have thin or missing hair around the elbow, eyes and muzzle, is a bad coat ok for the breed?
Shar peis are notorious for their bad skin and multiple skin condition. They need to be managed by a veterinarian or else they can progress to something really nasty.
The dogs were breed for the cold mountainous climate of northern China and don’t do well where the weather can be hot and humid.
I would not recommend this breed to anyone due to their bad skin as the vet costs alone can be enormous.
