my dogs place
hi, I need to find a good dog boarding place for my two dogs for two weeks in or nearby romeoville illinois?
I don’t know of one real close,but if you are willing to travel to Yorkville (Route 71) there is a nice place there. They offer doggie day care M-F & the price is not bad. I had a foster dog I needed to have boarded & made arrangements at a place. It was recommended by someone that I go check the place out first. I went with the dog to see it, & I left crying. It was filty, loud & the runs were concrete outdoor with a board covering part of it. The dogs all just a fence away from each other, they were known to steal toys through the kennels I was told, like that was ok & safe. I stopped at a place down the street & they were clean, I was given a full tour & they required that they meet the dog before it is boarded. He was with me so they met him & I had his vet paperwork. I wanted him in doggie day care, so they did a temperment test, then they brought in two dogs. The dogs were in separate playing areas & they were allowed to smell each other through the fence. When the employee felt it was ok she let one dog in with the foster dog & watched closely, staying near by. It was done very well, doing fostering myself I introduce a lot of dogs so I knew she knew what she was doing. The place is called Carrvilla, (spelling?) it is on Route 71 in Yorkville. The doggie day care is great as the dogs get to play all day & then go to their indoor run to sleep, & they have the choice of indoors or out when playing, doors to the fenced area was opened. They also had a 3 acre fenced area where they take the dogs once a day to really run & play, & they are watched while out there. It may be worth the trip to see it. They have bins for each dog & will feed what you bring & you can bring toys & beds. I guess I had a good experience & our rescue has used them one other time. The other foster mom drove from Downers Grove, but could find no other place close to her she liked. Good luck. where ever you go please ask a lot of questions & check out the whole place.
