Am I Over Reacting To My Dogs Pregnancy?
She gave birth to 4 Pomeranians. This is her second birth giving and I hope last. I’m going to get them spayed and neutered. The mother gets up and moves around and some of the babies get separated and start to cry/whine. Why do the puppies cry/whine? I’m just curious, also, when she gets up and moves around and when the puppies separate and they cry, will they be okay? Will they find a way to their mother? I completely freaking out and getting way to stressed for no reason? I mean, I’m sure the mother knows what shes doing but am I interfering?
Tiny pups like yours need all the body heat they can get. They need to be next to mom or each other. If they do get seperated they will get cold. They are too young to produce their own body heat just yet so that is why they cry. To let mom know that they are either cold or that they are hungery.
If you see a pup moving too far away from mom or the other pups it’s fine to pick that pup up and place it next to the others and mom.
Your not interfering when you get them back to mom or the rest of the pups, in fact thats what you should be doing. Making sure all the pups are kept warn and safe and well fed by mom.
