black dogs breeds
My black labrador is agressive towards some kinds of dogs but not all the time?
My coming up to 4 year old black labrador bitch called JoJo used to be always friendly with all breeds of dog. Just lately she has gone for a siberian husky, german shepherd, border collie and chocolate labrador, what could you ssuggest is up with her?

It depends on the situation. Where you were when your dog lashed out, were there other dogs around (aka dog park), were her hackles raised, was she giving warning signs to the other dog to back off or was it unprovoked aggression, did the dog approach her, etc. these are all things that must be taken into consideration. You must determine the source of your dogs aggression before trying to treat it. Is she afraid of the dogs she’s lashed out at, is it unprovoked dog aggression, is she being placed in a situation that leaves her no other option but to attack (in her mind). Most, but not all dogs bite out of fear. Determine if it is a fear based aggression. If she is attacking dogs that are bullying her at the dog park, you need to step in and make her feel safe. It is up to us to determine the source, and then figure out what treatment or solution is best.
I am fostering a lab/pit mix puppy, and I believed him to be showing some signs of aggression toward my dachshund. After watching for a few days it was easy to see that my dachshund was bullying the puppy and he wasn’t putting up with it. I had to step in, and put my dachshund in his place to make our foster know he was safe. The incidents became fewer and fewer, and the puppy is amazingly gentle with smaller dogs at the dog park when we go. Just try to figure out what the cause is, and then add some details so we can better help you.
